12.1.04 - Craig and Ryan played an acoustic set at the Winterman and Goldstein today! Craig and Ryan played "Winning Days" and a newer song, "Going Gone" (They've actually been doing this one live since the last tour.) Good to see the boys playing again.
11.26.04 - Another article on Craig Nicholls.
11.19.04 - This report was filed yesterday. Best wishes to Craig, his family and The Vines. The band is currently working on a third album. As for future touring, the band plans on playing only a few concerts. That information from this article. Additional information available here and here.
And from the official web site:
A Statement from The Vines’ Management
"We are very relieved that Craig has received an unconditional discharge in relation to charges of assault and malicious damage stemming from an incident at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney in May, when he allegedly kicked a photographer’s camera during a gig.
The last six months has been a very trying time for The Vines and those close to them. Craig was recently diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a neurobiological disorder which is a mild form of autism. People with AS are generally considered exceptionally intelligent (and often obsessively focus their attention to music or art), but have difficulty reading social situations and are often accused of being deliberately rude and antisocial. They also have difficulty coping with change and only find security in a familiar routine and environment.
The band has NOT broken up and Craig looks forward to doing what he loves and lives for - getting back to writing and recording music with The Vines. On behalf of Craig and the Vines, thank you to family, friends and fans for their continued support, understanding and compassion."
Winterman & Goldstein management, November 20, 2004
10.28.04 - From today's Daily Telegraph in Sydney: "The Vines' Craig Nicholls is hard at work writing new songs for the band's third album. While there is no timeframe for a new album, word on the street is that the demos recorded in his home studio sound damn fine. The band members are also enjoying their hiatus with Patrick and Ryan spotted at the ARIA's and Hamish at the Jet concert." - Posted by The Hoff. Yay! :D Craig's at work, there will be songs. I'm so excited.
6.12.04 - Due to recent happenings, The Vines have pulled out of their summer tour with Incubus and canceled all summer festivals. "Yes the Incubus tour is cancelled as well as the summer festivals. I don't think we'll be doing album 3 soon ... but we haven't broken up." says Patrick Matthews. It's unknown if Incubus has found another replacement for their opening band. - News from Linda on T-V.net. The band will most likely be taking a well deserved break for now.

(Though that's a Monday so in the states it'll be on 3.9.04) NME has heard Animal Machine, Ride, Amnesia, and Rainfall and have given them all reviews. First single off the album will be "Ride" set to be released February 23rd, 2004 (Once again, a Monday so February 24th) Thanks to The-Vines.net forum for posting about the NME.
The track listing goes as follows:

2. Animal Machine
3. TV Pro
4. Autumn Shade II
5. Evil Town
6. Winning Days
7. She's Got Something
8. Rainfall
9. Amnesia
10. Sun Child
11. Fuck The World
12.5.03 - The Vines are set to play Homebake Festival in a few days. They have been playing some "secret" shows under the band name "Foregone Conclusion". (Foregone Conclusion was first advertised on TheVines.com as one of The Vines' favorite bands of all time.) There were special shirts sold at the shows which read "Nov 27: Slough Working Men's Club Nov 28: Swindon Legion Dec 3 & 4: Annandale Hotel NEW SINGLE 'Freelove Freeway' b/w 'Equality Street' Out Now through Wernham Hogg." (All this comes from The Office) More info available on: the just a tad bit annoying NME.com or TheVines.com
7.22.03 - Sorry for not updating much! The Vines are currently on a small tour in the UK. Recently, Craig appeared on Radio One and played Autumn Shade II, a splendid and most surreal performance. I loved it. I'm not too sure if you can still catch it online, but you can check at BBC Radio.
A few months past, The Vines had a bit of trouble with Coca Cola. I'm uncertain as to whether they worked it out or not, though TheVines.com claims that things are settled. Coca Cola in Australia had released 'music themed' Coke cans, one having Craig's image on it. They had not asked permission from the band and are not in any way affiliated with The Vines. This NME article claims that Craig has "given up Coke and switched to Doctor Pepper." In that article, Hamish also mentions some new and old titles for The Vines' upcoming and highly anticipated (at least by The Vines' fans :D) new album. Those are: "Amnesia", "Fuck The World", "Windy Days" (I think they meant "Winning Days"), "Evil Town", "Drown the Baptists", "Sun Child", "TV Pro" (aka TV Prostitute), "Going Gone" and "Blues Riff." Some of these songs were released quite a while ago on vinyls but are four track recordings or are demos. The Vines usually sing these songs live.
